Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg, will the two billionaires actually cage fight?!
A weekly newsletter about all things social media by Nuelink
It's been an eventful week in the world of social media, filled with exciting developments and intriguing showdowns. Let's dive into the top stories that have been buzzing across platforms and capturing our attention.
In the realm of tech titans, we witnessed a fiery exchange between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Musk, known for his witty and often provocative tweets, recently challenged Zuckerberg to a "cage fight." In response, the Meta CEO fired back by posting a screenshot of Musk's tweet, accompanied by the caption "send me location." It seems the ball is now in Musk's court, leaving us all wondering how this unexpected feud will play out. But for the record, my money is on Zuck. ๐ฅท๐ต
On Tuesday, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, took to his account to make a much-anticipated announcement. Users can finally download public Reels, allowing for easier sharing outside the app. This new feature mirrors TikTok's existing capability, to no one's surprise.
Meanwhile, over in the Twitterverse, the platform has been expanding its character limits for Twitter Blue subscribers. Blue users now have the ability to post whopping 25,000-character tweets in a single go. It's a game-changer for those who love to express themselves in long-form on the platform.๐
In a surprising twist, TikTok's chief operating officer, V Pappas, announced on Twitter that she will be stepping down from the company. TikTok is still facing immense pressure from the U.S. government to address concerns surrounding its Chinese ownership, which has raised security and privacy issues. Pappas's departure adds a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing saga surrounding TikTok's future.
Shifting our focus to YouTube, the video-sharing giant is always on the lookout for ways to enhance the experience for both creators and viewers. This week, they unveiled a new feature called "Test & Compare," currently being tested with a select group of creators. This feature allows creators to upload up to three thumbnails for a single video and enables YouTube to experiment behind the scenes to determine which thumbnail performs the best. The beta version is expected to launch in the coming months, paving the way for a broader rollout next year.
LinkedIn quietly bid farewell to several creator features. Carousel posts, profile videos, and the in-image linking option, signaling a shift in the platform's direction.ย
Lastly, Discord is exploring new avenues for creators to monetize their communities. They announced plans to introduce "Downloadables," enabling creators to sell digital products through one-time purchases. Discord will begin experimenting with Downloadables over the coming months, promising an exciting future for creators and their communities.๐ฅ
And that wraps up the whirlwind week in social media. We can't wait to see what the next week will bring, probably some new features and hopefully more billionaires' fights. Keep on reading to find out this week's trends and memes.

Our Two Cents on Social Media Marketing ๐งโโ๏ธ
Beyond monitoring your own social media channels, employ social listening tools to monitor conversations related to your brand, industry, or competitors. This helps you gain valuable insights into customer sentiment, emerging trends, and identify opportunities for growth.
Make sure Hashtags are relevant to your content and target audience. Avoid using generic or unrelated hashtags just for the sake of it. Focus on quality rather than quantity. Use a few well-chosen hashtags that accurately describe your content.
Instead of solely focusing on promoting your brand, invest time and effort into building a genuine community on social media. Encourage discussions, facilitate conversations, and highlight user-generated content. A strong community fosters brand loyalty, advocacy, and word-of-mouth promotion.
As usual, use Nuelink to keep your social media marketing plan running without investing much time and resources with its automation and scheduling features.
