The War on Tiktok Has Begun…

nuelink.substack.com

Tiktok has been going through it this week. The EU, the UK, Canada, and the USA have all banned the app from official devices. However, the US wants more blood and is coming for TikTok's entire American market.

We also got our first look into Shorts monetization in action and another Twitter layoffs.

Read on this and more with the Nuelink team.

Trends 📈

  • The " Bold Glamour Makeup" trend: This trend has been all over Tiktok in the last few days. People use the infamous Bold Glamour filter and film their reaction to how they look.

  • The "My Ancestors" trend: I have been loving this trend lately. This trend is all about how your ancestors would react to things like your career, how you dress, or anything of that sort. Some of the takes on this trend are super funny and creative.

  • The "She’s from Manitoba" trend: Lip sync to this audio and add a text overlay to talk about someone/ something you thought was perfect until you find out some red flags about them.

  • The "Pedro Pascal Car" trend: Use this sound along with the CapCut template and text overlay to describe a situation that's very exciting to you but confusing to someone else.

Memes 🤣

  • The "Voice Deepfakes" memes:  As of late, there are a lot of funny AI voice deepfakes of politicians and celebrities. This meme usually involves a serious, well-known person "talking" about something silly. Take this video of Joe Biden relating his experience of running a Zoo as an example.

  • The "Cocaine Bear" memes: A new movie is out this week called Cocaine Bear. The movie, as the title describes, is about a bear that is high on cocaine and the mayhem it causes. People saw the movie and are memeing just how surprisingly good the movie is.
