The X VS. Threads and Bluesky saga continues…
A weekly newsletter about all things social media by Nuelink
Hey there, social media enthusiasts! Welcome back to the Nuesletter and the Nuelink Chronicles, your one-stop shop for the juiciest and quirkiest updates from the digital realm. Let's dive into the latest news and explore the ever-evolving world of social media.
Starting off with a zinger from the Elon Musk corner—his brainchild, the social network X (formerly known as Twitter), has unveiled a surprise for its avid users. Say hello to X Pro, previously recognized as TweetDeck, now shining under a subscriber-only spotlight. Some users found themselves staring at a pop-up window, asking if they're ready to splurge on a Blue subscription. Elon's just giving us the VIP treatment, we didn’t ask for. 💸
But wait, there's more! X decided to play the speed game with websites that Elon might not have bookmarked on his browser. The platform casually hit the brakes on accessing sites like The New York Times, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, and even Substack. It's like Elon took control of our internet speed dial. Luckily, the slowdown saga seems to be easing off, and we can now click on those links without contemplating our life choices during the loading screen. 🐢
In a twist that could leave your tweets in a tizzy, X is shuffling the deck of posts once again. When you're logged out, the good ol' chronological order is taking a backseat. Instead, it's the posts with the most likes that are hogging the limelight. Imagine your "likable" history coming back to haunt you as your ancient tweets rise from the depths. Who knew your 13 years old self could make such a comeback? 📜
Elon's not one to shy away from challenges, even when it comes to the enigma of "shadowbanning." X has been playing a coy game with this concept, and Elon's here to assure us that transparency is on its way. In a series of apologies and explanations, he's working on untangling this web of secrecy. Afterall, rumor has it that ID verification is getting an upgrade.
Time to bid adieu to the "Follower Objective" ads on X. The platform's tightening its belt and bidding farewell to promoting accounts in timelines. Advertisers, it's time to come up with some new tricks to catch our scrolling eyes. 📢🔍
Speaking of X, Jack Dorsey, Twitter's very own ex CEO, Instagram account is now a thing of the past. The @jack handle is up for grabs, and I'm envisioning an epic battle of usernames.
Instagram's adding a musical twist to your Reels with on-screen song lyrics. No more humming the wrong line, now you can scroll through the lyrics as you jam out to your favorite tunes. 🎤🎶
In other Instagram news, sort of, Threads may not have a web version yet, but it's rolling out an update that makes reposts the stars of the show. A dedicated "Reposts" tab is just another way that makes Threads look a little bit more like another app we know. 💬🔁
In the first signs of AI takeover, Snapchat's AI chatbot briefly developed a mind of its own, leaving users scratching their heads. It posted its own Story and went radio silent, sparking some digital paranoia. Maybe it was just asserting its independence? Or perhaps it needed a vacation from all the virtual small talk. 🤖🤳
And last but not least, Telegram is blowing out the candles on its 10th birthday cake with a surprise gift for everyone—Stories! The feature that was previously a Premium party exclusive is now open to all. 🎂📚
That's a wrap on this week's Nuelink Chronicles, where social media news comes alive. Until next time, keep scrolling, stay social, and never stop double-tapping these updates! ✨📱

Trends 📈
The “Never Back Down, Never What?” Trend: Share a video using this sound, along with a humorous text overlay illustrating a scenario where you'd provide a pep talk on perseverance (like supporting elderly pets/parents, for instance).
The “Cat Driving” Trend: Footage of a cat behind the wheel has taken over my feed. These videos were cropped into a green screen format, complete with humorous and relatable text captions. All set to the energetic beats of musician MO3's "Outside," this trend template came to life.

The “Jeffy, Did You Get A Speeding Ticket?” Trend: Here's a resurfacing trend. Grab this sound, and position yourself as Jeffy, all set to tackle questions. Much like most TikTokers, adopt the camera lens as Super Mario's viewpoint, gazing straight into it as if chatting with him off-screen.

The “She’s So Brave” Trend: This viral trend is still sizzling. Users use it to boost themselves to tackling anxiety-inducing tasks. It fits any situation where a self-empowerment boost is needed. Record your brave moment and you're set.

Memes 🤣
The “Selena Gomez” Meme: Selena Gomez is back at it! This time, the actress, singer, and entrepreneur got caught in the wild, wrapped up in a blanket, lost in thought, and radiating major main character energy. Now, the internet has taken the bait, churning out memes faster than I can keep up with. It's meme-mania, especially on X.

Our Two Cents on Social Media Marketing 🧙♂️
The music you choose should complement the story or message you're conveying in your social media content. Whether it's a promotional video, a vlog, or a tutorial, the music should enhance the overall narrative rather than distract from it.
Algorithms prioritize content that resonates with users. Focus on creating high-quality, relevant content that adds value to your audience. Engaging content is more likely to receive likes, comments, and shares, which can boost its visibility in users' feeds.
Even in short posts, encourage your audience to interact. Pose questions, ask for opinions, or invite users to share their experiences related to the topic. Interaction boosts engagement and helps your content reach a broader audience.
