Threads is adding an edit button, while X is putting replies behind a paywall…
A weekly newsletter about all things social media by Nuelink
Welcome back to the Nuesletter and the Nuelink Chronicles! This week, Elon Musk continues to shake things up with X. Fresh off the revamp of link previews that now showcase only the header image, Musk announced a major UI overhaul. Interaction counts and action buttons will vanish from feeds, a move that could be either genius or a "wait, where did that button go?" moment for users.
But that's not all from X; a new control has emerged, allowing users to limit replies exclusively to verified accounts. It's like the VIP section of the internet.
Meanwhile, over at Instagram, they're rolling out features targeted at the younger crowd. Birthday shout-outs, selfie videos for Notes, this could be an interesting addition to the platform.
Oh, and Threads, Instagram's Twitter wannabe, might be getting a trending topics feature. Meta's strategy to challenge X seems to be a mix of innovation and "anything you can do, we can do better." Sneaky, right?
Speaking of Meta, CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced an edit button for Threads. Unlike X's subscription lock on the edit feature, Threads is handing out typo-correction powers for free. Will this spark an edit button war? Stay tuned.
And in the TikTok universe, they're flexing their integration muscles. Now you can post directly from popular editing apps such as Adobe. This is such an interesting new feature!
Google, not wanting to be left out, is embracing generative AI for a more visual search experience. Text prompts can now summon images, expanding the search game beyond the confines of traditional results.
Lastly, Google is giving businesses more social media flair on their profiles. Because nothing says official like your Google Business profile showing off your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram links.
So, what's next in this digital world? Who knows, but we'll be here to keep you updated.
You can now catch up on social media news and the latest marketing strategies weekly with the Nuelink team.

The “This is My Roman Empire” Meme: If you remember, we have covered this one as a trend a few weeks back. But, since then this phrase has spread like wildfire and became a very popular meme template. This catchphrase is now an internet synonym of something you think about very often. This tends to be a movie clip or a very cringe moment.

Our Two Cents on Social Media Marketing 🧙♂️
Social media is a two-way street. Actively engage with your audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
People connect with people, not logos. Use a conversational tone that feels human and relatable. Share behind-the-scenes content, employee stories, and user-generated content to showcase the human side of your brand.
Establish a consistent visual identity across your social media platforms. Use a cohesive color palette, font styles, and imagery. Visual elements, such as images and videos, play a significant role in conveying your brand personality.
As usual, use Nuelink to keep your social media marketing plan running without investing much time and resources with its automation and scheduling features.
