Welcome back, social media aficionados! It's that time of the week where we spill the tea on the latest happenings in the ever-evolving world of social media. Grab your popcorn because we've got quite the show for you!
TikTok has expanded its Creativity Program, which is basically its way of saying, "Hey, top creators, we love you, and here's some cash to keep the creative juices flowing." It's now open to folks in Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the U.K.
TikTok's also flexing! TikTok's search results now come with a side of Wikipedia snippets. You can now find info on The New York Times, Taylor Swift, or even Thanksgiving without leaving your favorite platform.
If you're in the U.S., you're in luck. TikTok Shop is here with its very own tab on your home screen. It's basically your one-stop-shop for all things TikTok-approved. Live video shopping, shoppable ads, and even affiliate programs for creators.
Not everything is good news for TikTok this week. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission dropped a massive fine of €345 million on TikTok for how they handle children's data. Ouch!
On the other side of the aisle, X is facing some ad-labeling woes. Some users are seeing unlabeled ads in their feeds, which is a no-no according to the FTC.
The app also introduced government ID-based account verification for their elite paid users.
From one microblogging platform to another, Meta is keeping the updates rolling for Threads. Now you can keep tabs on specific conversations and quote posts on the desktop.
YouTube, on the other hand, is stepping up its live-stream game. Soon, you'll be able to immerse yourself in full-screen live content.
And, LinkedIn is getting all chatty with generative AI. They're bringing conversational language and summaries to Sales Navigator, making it easier for you to connect with leads.
That's a wrap, folks! The social media space never sleeps, and neither do we. Stay tuned for more news next week. Until then, keep scrolling, sharing, and liking! 📱

Trends 📈
The “You Can Do Whatever You Like” Trend: Create a video using the CapCut template with this sound and add text overlays to show the differences between two different attitudes.

The “Grandma Old Photo” Trend: Make a video with this sound where your “grandchild” discovers an old photo of you. In the first clip, use a "grandma/ grandpa" filter, and in the second clip, use a filter to show you when you were young. My favorite variations of this trend are the funny takes.
The “Wassup Gway” Trend: Use the first 10 seconds of the trending sound to create a video where you move to the beat. Afterward, add text overlays like "my/our honest reaction" for TikTok. For example, you can respond to comments people leave on your posts.

The “If It's Lovin' That You Want” Trend: This sound is very versatile for all types of content. Use this trending sound to create a morning vlog, show what your typical day looks like, or market your products/services.

Memes 🤣
The “Mexico Aliens” Memes: Earlier this week, Mexico along with the rest of the world witnessed a bizarre sight, two pint-sized, mummified beings. These “aliens” sparked the usual internet frenzy and the memes, naturally, followed.

Our Two Cents on Social Media Marketing 🧙♂️
Review your existing content to identify evergreen posts or content that's still relevant and valuable. Evergreen content is ideal for recycling because it doesn't become outdated quickly.
Before reposting content, update and refresh it. Check for accuracy, relevance, and any outdated information. You can also add new insights, statistics, or examples to keep it current.
Organize your content into themes or series. For example, you can have a “Throwback Thursday” series where you repost popular content from the past.
As usual, use Nuelink to keep your social media marketing plan running without investing much time and resources with its automation and scheduling features.
